Anyone here into Transcendental Meditation?
Heard a little about it from David Lynch's "Catching the Big Fish" audiobook, but he just sort of touts the benefits, without really explaining the method. He says he's been doing it for over 30 years, and it's the greatest experience ever, but then again, he's nuts. Still, his claim that it will "dissolve the suffocating rubber clown suit of anxiety and depression" sounds like just the ticket right now.

Anyone here currently into TM or had experience with it they'd care to share? Good or bad or indifferent? Would love your insights...

1. I had a boyfriend who did TM
he seemed to enjoy it, however I knew a marriage counselor who told me she had a client who was into it but still was an abusive asshole

guess it just depends on who's practicing

3. I was into meditation a little in the past
It basically just calmed me down and made me mellow for a little while. I don't think it should be used as a replacement for western methods of treating mental illness, but it could be used as a part of your therapy. It sure can't hurt.
