Update on my new (16 year old) child...
I spoke to his mom about an hour ago. I let her know he was here and safe, also to see if she has changed her mind about him being able to go back home.

Long story short...No, he is not welcome back in her house, and it doesn't look like this situation is going to resolve itself any time soon. The good news is, she is okay with him staying with us (if I interpret.."I don't give a damn where he is", as it's okay).

I guess I'll be talking to a lawyer tomorrow in order to make sure I'm not going to get in trouble here. *sigh*

2. Why was this boy kicked out of his house?
I've never understood how parents can do such a thing. My older sister and my mom used to argue big time. There were times my mom threw my sister's stuff outside, but I don't know if she'd have gone as far as to never allow her in the house again.

4. The mom is a little crazy...
They used to rent our guest house and I learned her idiosyncrasies.

If she has a boyfriend, then she ignores him (so he spent a lot of time at our house since he was 10). If she doesn't have anyone, she get very jealous of him doing anything or being out of the house. I guess she needs company...but who knows?

Anyway, she freaked out when he asked to go out with some friends yesterday and basically came to the conclusion he didn't want to live with her or loved her anymore...so out he went.

The boy works weekends for me and told me he wasn't allowed to go home, so I told him he can stay with us as long as he needs to.
