I am weary of putting on the happy face...

So many people I know are going through rough times right now. For some reason, I am the shoulder they choose to cry on.

Lost jobs, foreclosures, bankruptcies, deaths...the list goes on and on. I get calls day and night. Most times, I can only offer my sympathy and encouragement. Don't get me wrong, I am glad to offer a few bucks or some kind words, but lately; I just feel like screaming.

I have heard more than once that I am the strongest person they know. Lately, it has become more difficult to deal with them. It's getting harder to tell these folks that everything will be ok, when I am beginning to doubt it myself.

I guess I just need an infusion of genuine hope, as I seem to be running low. Do they sell that at GNC?

Whatever thing or things are good, and happy, and funny, no matter how small. Find something you can appreciate, even if it is microscopic. Be grateful for it, and work up from there.
Sometimes it helps to take a break from places like GD and etc. So much negativity.
Take care of YOURSELF first; you can't give what you don't already have and feel. If you want to give love, peace, and calm you have to feel it for yourself first.
A great escapist book always helps me too, but YMMV.
