Songs you avoid cause they put you into a bad place?
You know, maybe the tune that was all over the radio during a dark period of your life or something. For me, it's funny, I can't listen to "Scuba Scuba" by the Revillos. Like, the most poppy, dumb, happy song I need to avoid.

What about you?

1. Someone Saved My Life Tonight
That's the only example that comes readily to mind.

Not cause of anything personal, just cause the sentiment makes me sick. :)

14. UGH! I can't STAND that song!
Every time I hear it, I want to strangle somebody until the song goes away.

How exactly do you Wang Chung anyway? It sounds like you might need a manual, or an associates degree.

10. There's a piece by Chet Baker I don't want to hear right now. I guess but then
sometimes it's Somewhere Over the Rainbow by Judy Garland because of the tragic life she led.

11. "Precious and Few"
I remember that it played on the alarm one morning when I had stomach flu. I got up and was sick. I've never liked it since.

Also, "She's Come Undun" - I was staying home from school sick that time, too, and reading a series of articles about people killed by grizzly bears. People having their limbs torn off coupled with the phrase "she's come undun" was too much for me.

12. Aqua Lung by Jethro Tull
That song creeps me out. Whenever it comes on the radio I have to change channels.

I have the same reaction to any sound clip of our glorious leader.

17. "The Weakness in Me"
by Joan Armatrading http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yvNs2fE6bWY

covered by Melissa Etheridge http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q61l43q3dJE

I’m not the sort of person who falls in and quickly out of love
But to you I gave my affection right from the start
I have a lover who loves me
How could I break such a heart
But still you get my attention

Why do you come here
When you know I’ve got troubles enough
Why do you call me
When you know I can’t answer the phone

You made me lie
When I don’t want to
Make someone else some kind of an unknowing fool
Make me stay
When I should not
Are you so strong or is all the weakness in me

Why do you come here
And pretend to be just passing by
But I need see you
And I mean to hold you tightly

Feeling guilty, worried
Waking from a tormented sleep
Ohh, this old love has me bound
But the new love cuts me deep

If I choose now
I’ll lose out
One of you has to fall
I need you
You, baby

Why do you come here
When you know I’ve got troubles enough
Why do you call me
When you know I can’t answer the phone

And made me lie
When I don’t want to
Make someone else some kind of an unknowing fool
Make me stay
When I should not
Are you so strong or is all the weakness in me

Why do you come here
And pretend to be just passing by
But I need see you
And I mean hold you tightly

18. oh I have a list
Please don't go-KC and the sunshine band.....breakup with first love

Blackout-scorpions....first husband problems, about the time he was going crazy on me and I realized I really needed to get out of that relationship.
I realize I missed a day
But I'm too wrecked to care anyway
I look around and see this face
What the hell have I lost my taste
Don't want to find out
Just want to cut out

I grab my things and make my run
On the way out, another one
Would like to know before I stop
Did I make it or did I flop
Don't want to find out
Just want to get out

Longfellow seranade-Neil Diamond...I must have had some sadness in elementary school when this came out, I feel sad when I hear it, and I love the song, dunno what the deal is..

Carly

whose titles escape me at the moment. Just reminders of things I didn't do I'd just as well forget.

20. Only one...
'Honey' by Bobby Goldsboro. I hated that song when I was a teenager, but I really really loathe it now, because my STBE played it EVERY SINGLE weekend after his ex-wife died. x( If I NEVER hear that song again it will be far too soon!!
