The preacher and the saloonkeeper
A man was sitting in church one Sunday and the minister was going off on the evils of Demon Rum.

"All you people who go to saloons and spend all your hard-earned money defying the Will of the Lord, consider this: who's the richest man in town? The saloonkeeper! Who has the biggest house? The saloonkeeper! Who has the biggest car, the fanciest clothes, the loosest women around him? The saloonkeeper! And who pays for all of it? You do!"

Next Sunday the man found the preacher after service and told him he was deeply moved by last Sunday's sermon.

"Praise the Lord! Another of your followers has Seen the Light!"

'I went home and thought long and hard about what you said.'

"Praise the Lord!"

'Everything you said in your sermon was absolutely true.'

"Praise the Lord!"

'In fact, preacher, that sermon completely changed the direction of my whole life.'

"Praise the Lord! So you stopped drinking?"

'Nope. I opened a saloon the next day.'
