How many cats can my reclusive mother own before she's officially crazy?

Right now she's somewhere between eight and n cats, excluding the recent arrival of four unexpected kittens. She claims that she's going to get rid of those last additions, but, knowing her, that means a small, hand-written cardboard sign in her window, so we're at n+4.

I could not handle more than 3. My aunt and uncle set their limit at 6. I've never known anyone who could really handle more than 6.

I don't doubt that she loves them all, but her own health isn't exactly pristine.

Its the feeding frenzy of 130 cats in a older Russian woman's APARTMENT. Funny and creepy at the same time.....:yoiks:

That was one woman who had way TOO many cats.

One cat hates everybody and everything. But she's soooooo pretty she gets away with anything.

One cat hates everybody and everything most of the time until she burns out from hissing and curls up in your lap and goes to sleep and purrs. She also purrs and hisses at the same time with gets confusing.

The first two cats hate each other and have running catfights up and down the basements stairs at 4 a.m. and the rest of the house when they're allowed upstairs.

The third cat is a sweety but insists upon being lap kitty ALL THE FSCKING TIME and purring so loud you can't hear the TV and of course if she's in your lap and cat 2 wants in, that's a catfight in your lap the rolls onto the floor on top of cat 1 who gets pissed off all over again and runs into the bathroom and won't let anybody in.

The half a cat is an outdoor kitty I think I'm sharing with a neighbour because I don't see him for days on end, but he's always well groomed and fed. He mostly drops by for some petting and a snack and piss off the other cats.
