What is this, a God damn October hurricane?
Edited on Fri Oct-19-07 11:26 PM by Redstone
I'm sitting square in the middle of a 16 by 16 foot screen porch, and I just got hit by a horizontal smackdown of a bucket of rain that was so strong that it made me duck over so my Powerbook wouldn't get flooded. I'm going inside now.

Good Lord, I feel sorry for those folks in the Midwest who had this weather when it was a REAL storm before traveling east and hitting us.

1. My dear Redstone...
That does sound pretty severe...

It would be a very bad thing if your Powerbook got wet...:scared:

Nice to see you tonight!

You haven't been around these parts for awhile...Hope all is well with you...

3. I will check it out...
You will always have my great respect and friendship, my dear Redstone....always...

And if you have a moment, have a look at my rather ordinary sunset pics...

4. Tornadoes in Michigan last night.
Seven, count 'em, seven, tornado warnings in SW Michigan last night, two tornadoes in Eaton County alone, one hour apart. One in my county.

It was hairy up here last night!!!!

7. That must be utterly nerve-racking; I do hope they're OK.

10. Thank you, Redstone. They do have cell phones -- I hope I would have heard
if they had problems.

9. Wheezy, Allegan got hit hard.
They got hit with strong wind, hail, torrential rain--BUT no tornado warnings went off for Allegan County.

I wouldn't be surprised if landlines are down, along with trees and so forth. But the tornado warning for Eaton was far enough to the east of Allegan that they should be ok.

Berrien, Cass, St. Joseph, Calhoun, Van Buren, Kalamazoo, Eaton counties are the ones that got hit with worse winds and the tornado warnings, then parts of Barry County. Ottawa got hit pretty hard with the winds, also. Some areas with 70 mph. But don't worry, I've heard of no injuries or deaths from those counties.

11. Thank you so much --
My family is mostly in Ottawa county, near the border of Allegan (Holland area). I grew up there -- the winds sound bad, but not unheard of.

I appreciate your info very much. I'm sure I would have heard something by now if they had serious issues.

*hug*

8. That we do, indeed. Not as bad as the people in Georgia, but it HAS been too dry.
