Okay, to start this story off, I work in a warehouse. Mostly guys. Somewhat liberal-leaning bunch for the most part, especially since we all stayed there as long as we have because of the nifty benefits we got as a result of having a union and all that good stuff. But in my work area we have one token conservative. I've always avoided talking politics with him because I know he's fairly religious and conservative and all that crap.
We also just got a bunch of new guys recently, one of whom is fairly hardcore republican.
Anyhow, I ended up working in the same bay as the token conservative at the beginning of the night, and somehow the subject of politics came up. When I said something about myself being fairly liberal and him being fairly conservative, he said, "I dunno if I want to keep calling myself that..."
Long story short, basically he's so pissed off at the republican party by now that he doesn't even want to be associated with their terminology. Which I found rather amusing. So we spent the next few minutes complaining about how the media has chosen our canidates for us, and the ones we want are being ignored, yaddah yaddah yaddah. (He likes Ron Paul, I like Kucinich)
A few minutes later the new republican guy ended up in a bay near ours, and I couldn't help but notice that he was wearing a shirt that said 'Proud republican' and had stars and stripes and red white and blue and all that crap. We were all bantering back and forth, like we tend to do while we work. Suddenly our token conservative says to the new republican employee, "Why not just wear a shirt that says 'Proud brainwash victim!'"
I just about fell on my ass laughing.
