Unfortunately, I may be. At least this one guy....

Back when I still lived in South Louisiana, when oil crossed $60, I remember asking this preening, strutting British Petroleum dude who always talked real loud pro-Bush shit at the gym if he thought oil would ever go back below $50, and he said "Oh yeah" like *I* was the moron for even asking.

I mean, the whole peak oil thing--politics aside--was such a strange notion to him. Instead, advances in location and drilling would always keep up. I kept pointing out that both the finite nature and that drilling advances meant higher costs. I seriously don't think he had ever thought about it. He just took it as an article of faith that we'd always find more, I think. As crazy as that sounds.

Wish I had a transcript of that chat and his email address.
