I don't remember whether it dies down when the sun goes down or not.

Really bugs me that the Irvine fire appears to have been caused by arson - per the OCR.

Stay safe. Good thing that your roof is of tiles and not wood, it is, right?

10. It died down for a bit around sunset.
It has picked back up but the expect it to get nearly gale force again at sunrise.

It came about a mile from us on Sunday night. Amazing how that motivated me to climb a ladder even though I am afraid of heights.
