I hate wind.
It makes me feel uneasy, as if things are never going to be OK. Maybe it didn't help to go through Hurricane Wilma in 2005, but I hated wind before that. Harleydad's grandma hated it, too. (Harleydad LOVES wind. :scared:) I just want it to stop.

Does it affect anyone else this way? I'm curious.

1. I don't mind wind
I enjoy sitting at home underneath the covers with a hot tea and listen to the sound of the winds. But then I am also like to hear the sound of waves .....

There are people and there are people :)

3. Oh, you reminded me ...
being at the beach in the wind is even worse than hearing it from the house. :(

You and harleydad would have a nice time today. It's not cold enough to sit underneath the covers, but maybe you could manage the hot tea in front of an open window. :9 Wanna come over? :bounce:

7. I can sit underneath covers no matter what
I'm a frost bite

And tea is always welcome too as you know :D

Yeah, but the flight might get too bumpy for my pleasure :(

8. How could I forget?
We'll try to get a fireplace going one of these days and you can snuggle up in front of it when it's 75 degree outside.

Yes, I do know. And how embarrassing is this ... we had NO BLACK TEA when billyskank visited. I have an entire tea section in my pantry that takes up several shelves, but it's all herbal. I managed to find some Chai, but no plain black tea. We finally went to the store and bought some.

We'll get one of those special just-blink-and-you're-here flights. No bumpiness. :D Wouldn't you just love it if they invented a transporter like on Star Trek? :bounce:

9. Yes, something like that

With 75 degrees I might be comfy, but anything under 70 .....

I would love it!!!!! Being there in a blink of an eye .... sigh .... when is the future here?

No black tea????? How shocking!!!
The Queen was not amused .....

10. Then you wouldn't be happy
to wake up with all the windows open and no fire in the fireplace.

Good thing the queen wasn't here! Hey, I saw a portrait of her on billyskank's money that was a lot more flattering than the one you posted. She must've had her black tea before they took the money pic.

I think she was way younger when the pic for the money was taken.

5. YES!
A big change ... usually it's going to get colder or warmer. But it might be something bigger than that.

I hope you're not getting any wind today.

4. I hate what it does to my hair! Wasn't crazy about its blowing down my Bradford pear, either.

6. I didn't think about that.
Hair, that is. Blowing down your Bradford pear is very upsetting! Did you stand it back up?

It broke my wind chime ... which is sort of strange if you think about it. But the chime was more for a gentle breeze, I think, not wind.

:hi:

14. Nothing quite like wind in the fall
I love fall and winter, so I may be biased. Standing outside at 3am when the wind is whipping around and snow is coming down. A cloudy day in November, wind going, and blowing the clouds along the skyline at a quick speed, all the leaves from the trees going every which way. I'll take it every time.

Granted, never lived through a tornado or hurricane, so that might change the perspective.

16. You sound like harleydad.
He was right there with me during Hurricane Wilma and loving it. He was just fascinated! While I was scared out of my mind. Go figure.

I think some people like exciting weather, if that's what you would call it. Harleydad thinks a sunny day with blue sky and no wind is just boring. He loves all the things you described. Do you like thunder storms too?

20. No
I love them.

Alright, love might be a strong word. I've been caught in a few before, since I like walking in the rain without an umbrella. Not always fun, although running as your heart skips a beat after you hear the crack of a far too close bolt of lightning can be an experience.

Sorry for the bad joke.
Strong winds can be very upsetting. It sounds like you had a bad experience.
I've been through windstorms but only while safely in my house. I'd hate to be outside in one.

23. :)
There used to be a guy I worked with who ate a lot of beans ... we nicknamed him Broken Wind.

It actually doesn't sound as bad outside today as it does inside. I went out and it was quite pleasant. Yes, I did have a bad experience, but it's a puzzle as to why the wind bothered me before I went through a hurricane.

here in Southern California, right now especially...the wind is ENTIRELY unwelcome.

Thankfully, it has calmed down a LOT today.

When I lived in Nebraska, I found the wind to merely be an inconvenience (most of the time), but out here it's never a good thing...and, in fact, is usually deadly.
