About a month and a half ago, I went through the gauntlet of all the hoops one has to jump through to get their car registered in the fine state of California.
Went to the DMV and stood in line for a year and a half.
DMV informed me - and this information was NOT available on the website, or anywhere else, that I needed to take the smog test.
Paid the fee at the DMV.
Paid the fee at the smog test place.
Did the smog test.
Flunked the smog test.
Took car to the repair shop to repair it so it would pass the smog test.
Paid for the repairs.
Paid again for the smog test fee.
Did the smog test again.
Passed the smog test.
Went to AAA with my old MN title, the paperwork from the DMV, and the smog test cert.
Got my plates and put them on my car.
Yesterday I get a letter in the mail stating that the registration on our car is due to be suspended because of lack of proof of insurance.
Now couldn't the idiots at the DMV have asked me for that while I was THERE? I had it with me because Minnesota always asks for it when renewing tabs.
Now I have to make a copy of the damned thing, and mail it back to them because they were too stupid to ask in the first place.
