No candy on Halloween?!
Have you ever handed out anything that WASN'T candy to trick-or-treaters on Halloween?

One year, my mom got three bags of "fun size" Goldfish crackers. Big mistake. We had NOBODY come that year (we didn't have too many kids in our neighborhood when we lived in the city in the '90s), and I was stuck eating stale Goldfish crackers for weeks!

1. Yeah.
My husband's company had a bunch of flashing red bicycle taillights with their logo on them and we gave those out. The kids loved them. When we ran out, we had to switch to candy, and we had some disappointed kids later in the evening.

When I was a kid, I had a neighbor who gave out travel-size toothpaste. x(

2. My aunt and uncle
We lived in the country and they lived in town. So I went to their house on Halloween to T or T their nieghbors. One neighbor even dressed up and "kidnapped" kids inside for a Halloween party. :D

Every year without fail, my aunt gave out wrigley's chewing gum and apples. No chocolate. No Dum Dums. Not even candy corn. x(

But I suppose I should thankful they participated at all, considering they were pentacostal holiness.

I think they were dental hygienists, or something.... (who are fine people, certainly)

It's only one day a year... why not just give out candy?
