Attention Ohio Loungers - DO NOT shop at Kroger's
(x-posted from someone else's GD thread)

the UFCW union may possibly strike at Kroger stores...in preparation for this possibility, Kroger's has already started looking for scabs

2. No problem.
I don't think that there are any Krogers in this part of the country.

Regards, Mugu

3. So in my area we have Walmart and
Riesbecks both are non-union. It would seem kind of counter-productive to go to a non-union competitor I would think.

5. My dear mark414...
I shop at the western branch of Kroger's...Ralphs.

They recently approved a new contract that largely did away with a lot of the divisive issues from a couple of years ago...

I hope they can do the same in Ohio...

10. Yep.... when they went on strike here (in PA), Kroger pulled out of the area.
I used to enjoy shopping there, too.... :(

8. I had a second job at a Kroger store here
and was working there when the last strike was just hours away. I didn't hear if they were looking for workers then, so this might be more serious.

13. this is bullshit
so Kroger might strike so I have to walk another 4.50 miles to get to another grocery? Kroger needs to shove it up their ass!! Fuck if I am going to walk another five miles so I can eat.

14. um,
the workers might strike because they're not getting a fair shake from the management

Kroger, in their place, would hire scabs to replace those workers.

so, if you want to support union busting, keep shopping there

(note: this is only if they strike)

Roon said that he has to "walk" to the store, 4-5 miles...And as most of us know, Roon also has AIDS. I think we can cut him some slack, no?
