1. biofeedback therapy?
I did this for headaches about 13 years ago. it helped me learn to control my headaches. I am still prone to headaches, but now if I concentrate I can minimalize them.

I really hope we're talking about the same thing...

4. it really did help me a lot
at the time, it made a huge difference.

the doctor just hooked the little electroids to my forehead, around my face, neck and shoulders and I was able to watch myself relax on the screen with the squiggly lines going flat. it took me several sessions before I was making much progress, but in the end I could almost flatten them instantly.

I say go for it. good luck to your daughter.

6. Is it mainstream enough that a psychiatrist would not laugh it off?

7. Yes. I work at a major medical facility and
it is commonly prescribed for some problems. Unless the psychiatrist is
not informed, I would think they would support trying it for appropriate
issues.
