Ex-Nirvana Members Follow Different Paths
http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&cid=529&ncid=529&e=3&u=/ap/20030805/ap_en_mu/people_nirvana

NEW YORK - One former Nirvana band member said he will punch out of the music industry, while another is hoping for a shot at playing with Led Zeppelin if a reunion tour ever comes together.

Ex-Nirvana bassist Krist Novoselic (news) said he "can't deal" and has "quit" the music industry, and will opt instead for a possible shot at a politics.

<snip>

Dave Grohl, Nirvana's former drummer, has no plans to quit the music business. In fact, Grohl said that if Led Zeppelin ever get together for a reunion tour, he'd cut off an important part of his body to fill in for the late John Bonham (news) behind the drums

I just want to know what political aspirations that Novoselic has???!!!

1. he's a Democrat, Cobain was a Democrat too
Krists post Nirvana career has been pretty bad while Grohl has really shined. I have a feeling this will only be a temporary hiatus, he's only 38!

anybody remember sweet75?:puke:

4. In his diary Cobain wrote he's left...
he's extreme left. Does this make him a democrat?

5. Cobain voted Democrat
I remember reading an interview with him once, he voted Dukakis in 88 and Clinton in 92.

There is another interview with him and some other girl where he's asking her "hey, why is your sis a repug, we need to change her"

6. That's what he wrote in his diary:
"Diary entry

I like to complain and do nothing to make things better. I like to blame my parents generation for coming so close to social change then giving up after a few successful efforts by the media & government to deface the movement by using the mansons and other Hippie representatives as propaganda examples on how they were nothing but unpatriotic, communist, satanic, inhuman diseases. And in turn the baby boomers become the ultimate, conforming, yuppie hypocrites a generation has ever produced.

I like to calmly and rationally discuss my views in a conformist manor even though I consider myself to the extreme left. I like to infiltrate the mechanics of a system by posing as one of them, then slowly start the rot from the inside of the empire. I like to assasinate the lesser & greater of two evils.

I like to impeach God

I like to Abort christ

I like to fuck sheep

I like the comfort in knowing that women are generally superior and naturally less violent than men.

I like the comfort in knowing that women are the only future in rock and roll."
Oops,
Dirk

8. That's awesome that you came up with that,
but parts of it are very disturbing. I guess that's no big surprise!

2. He was good
in getting the Teen Dance Ordinance repealed in Seattle. He's afiliated with a group called JAMPAC (SP?). The filing deadline for Washington state just expired a week or so ago, so it'll have to wait a year if he wants elected office. If he lives in Ballard or the suburbs, he can replace Inslee when Inslee runs for Governor.
