10. adding lyrics:
"When The Ship Comes In"

Oh the time will come up
When the winds will stop
And the breeze will cease to be breathin'
Like the stillness in the wind
'Fore the hurricane begins
The hours when the ship comes ind.

And the seas will split
And the ship will hit
And the sands on the shoreline will be shaking
Then the tide will sound
And the wind will pound
And the morning will be breaking.

Oh the fishes will laugh
As they swim out of the path
And the seagulls they'll be smiling
And the rocks on the sand
Will proudly stand
The hour that the ship comes in.

And the words that are used
For to get the ship confused
Will not be understood as they're spoken
For the chains of the sea
Will have busted in the night
And will be buried at the bottom of the ocean.

A song will lift
As the mainsail shifts
And the boat drifts on to the shoreline
And the sun will respect
Every face on the deck
The hour that the ship comes in.

Then the sands will roll
Out a carpet of gold
For your weary toes to be a-touchin'
And the ship's wise men
Will remind you once again
That the whole wide world is watchin'.

Oh the foes will rise
With the sleep in their eyes
And they'll jerk from their beds and think they're dreamin'
But they'll pinch themselves and squeal
And know that it's for real
The hour that the ship comes in.

Then they'll raise their hands
Sayin' we'll meet all your demands
But we'll shout from the bow your days are numbered
And like Pharaoh's tribe
They'll be drownded in the tide
And like Goliath, they'll be conquered.

22. What Was So Interesting About It?
I saw was a 74 year old man who because of his dad not being able to buy his mom stuff is making up for it by buying more stuff than a human being needs. Not just stuff, no he has to have the biggest, fastest, most expensive things.

6. Yes, I'm surprised PBS are showing it
It's a Have vs Have not in the extreme. That boat represents more money the most people can imagine.

Of course, I do want it, but I can't afford the crew.

12. Ugly, ugly, ugly
Better that than something like Rising Sun (larry ellison's monstrosity) or Paul Allen's Octopus, i guess, but still, yech. Get yourself an 80 foot Hinckley, or have Gannet&Benjamin build you another Rebecca, but sheech, that thing is ugly.

13. you know what i really hate about that boat aesthetically ? The cabin, it looks like
a powerboat sitting in the middle of a sailboat. My Dad had a sailboat for years and it looked like a sailboat, that thing is just awful looking. Is it a schooner, is it a sailboat or is a cabin cruiser?

15. Some Info
The Maltese Falcon (yacht)

The Maltese Falcon sailing The Maltese Falcon is a clipper sailing luxury yacht owned by American hectomillionaire Tom Perkins. It is one of the largest privately-owned sailing yachts in the world at 88 meters (289.1 feet), after yachts such as Royal Huisman's Athena and Lurssen's Eos . Ken Freivokh Design were the appointed designers (after an invention from the German engineer Wilhelm Prölss). The yacht was constructed in Tuzla, Turkey by the Italian firm Perini Navi. The Falcon was the third yacht built by this firm for Perkins.

As of 2006 the Falcon is registered in Valletta, Malta. It completed its trial sail in the Sea of Marmara to the Bosphorus strait on 12 June 2006, and made its maiden voyage from Turkey to Italy via Malta in July 2006. As of 2006 S/Y Perkins rents the Falcon out for between EUR€ 325,000 to 335,000 per week<1> plus expenses.

The Maltese Falcon moored in Monte-Carlo The ship has fifteen square sails (five per mast) which open in six minutes. The three carbon fiber masts were manufactured and assembled by a company financed by Perkins at the Yildiz Gemi yard in Tuzla, 50 miles south of Istanbul, Turkey, under the supervision of the English company Insensys, and are free-standing and rotating. The yacht is easily controlled and has been seen to sail off her anchor and away from berths within harbors. The yacht's sophisticated computer detects parameters such as wind speed automatically and displays key data, however Perkins does not permit the computer to actually sail the yacht. An operator must always activate the controls, yet it is possible for a single person to pilot the yacht.

The Falcon has two 1800 horse-power Deutz engines running at 1800 rpm with a top speed of 20 knots with minimal wave-making and virtually no vibration or noise and with a smooth and non-turbulent wake.

The yacht has a permanent crew of 18 to maintain the technical aspects including the rig and to operate the on board "hotel", which can accommodate twelve guests plus four guest staff.

18. I'm not sad knowing Steve accomplished a whole lot of stuff before he died.
That boat project was just a bit of entertainment (albeit a very successful venture) for him while he worked toward his next project. I hated him at one time, but grew to admire what he was doing. I was mad because I was involved in a project boat that set a singlehanded sailing record from Japan to San Francisco, only to have Steve, with his huge pocketbook, break our record a few months later.

Oh, an ironic end to our trimaran; it pitch-poled off the Farallon Islands (offshore from San Francisco) and drifted undetected to a South Pacific island where a local fisherman salvaged it and turned it into a fishing boat. Word got back to the owner and he flew down to see it and started laughing when he saw standing rigging was being used as a clothes lines. The fisherman, the legal owner (salvage rights), insisted he pay for the boat. A price was agreed upon that was most fair and square.

The wing mast, my baby, was lost at sea.
