The U.S. vs. John Lennon

I just watched that documentary and I learned quite a bit from it. Lennon was considered such a threat by the establishment in America at the time that he was monitored by the F.B.I. We're talking wire taps and being followed and evidence that the harassment came all the way from Nixon. They finally found a weakness with Lennon and then tried to have him deported. I didn't know about that stuff until I watched the film. Lennon was also friends with Bobby Seale and Abbie Hoffman.

Anyway, I won't give too much of it away just in case some of you who are younger want to check it out. I was born in '72 and while I grew up listening to the Beatles because of my parents, I didn't know about that other stuff that happened to Lennon. Check it out. I found the video at Blockbuster.

I too learned a LOT from it. We really enjoyed it. I also gained a new respect for Yoko Ono .. I don't really know what I thought of her before I saw the documentary ..

She gave a lot of great insight into their personal lives together as well as some of their political stunts. It was good to hear her speak.

it's a good documentary...John was the most controversial of the Beatles, he started with his Beatles bigger than Jesus statement, went on to Hair Peace/Bed Peace, then unfortunately he was the one who had his life cut short at the hands of a pyschotic animal who will rot in hades eternally. I miss John.

I don't have a TV so I am reduced to watching videos on my computer.

I, too, learned a lot of things I had not previously know.

Learned a lot I didn't know before, though we all knew something was going on at the time. He was a very strong person to withstand all that crap.

...I saw another documentary on The Beatles, which was a BBC production, which really opened up a lot of "new" info that isn't common knowledge over here in the colonies.

I find some of the info in that one hard to believe.
