1. I suspect he is very busy.

He will have much to deal with in the aftermath of his wife's death. There will be the inevitable bureaucracy of death, the reordering of his life, finding daycare for his kids, and learning how to cope with everyday matters without her. All of that takes time and thought.

Then, he and his children will have to come to terms with their grief after life settles into its new patterns.

If that sounds clinical and bloodless, I don't mean it that way. I remember how it was when my husband died.

2. Yes, I figured as much.

I've lost family members, too, so everything you said is quite true.

I just don't want him to drop out of sight altogether. I hope he stops by and gives us a report.

Last I saw was a rant about his credit card and that was a few weeks ago IIRC.

4. I got a PM from him about a week ago.

He popped into the Lounge real quick for one post and I happened to see it and asked how he was.

As of a week ago, he's holding up as could be expected, and is at least popping in and out from time to time.
