So I just watched 'Bee movie' off the internet.
I am soooo glad I did not pay to see that.

Awful. Just a terrible train wreck. Plot? Naw. Sensible transitions? Naw.
This movie was a non-stop, scene jumping, who needs transitions nightmare.

And the ending? Who wrote that? Were the writers completely drunk?
No wonder they had to have that absurd advertising blitz: the movie was awful.

Arg.

11. Agreed
Massive over-exposure. Usually a signal of desperation by studios after they realize how much money they spent producing something that turned out to be shit.

Has Jerry Seinfeld actually done anything worthwhile since "Seinfeld"?

3. I took my daughter to see it this weekend.....
I thought it was fairly boring. I didn't expect it to entertain me, and in fact i hate animated kids movies that try too hard to be hip and wink-wink, nudge-nudge to the adults. But this didn't even really entertain her. Mediocre at best.

5. Local paper gave it a C-
thats pretty bad for them.
I believe the comment was something like "Kids seemed bored, parents seemed ready to pluck out their own eyes rather than watch."

6. I saw it this weekend
with a 9-yr-old and two 10-yr olds. They liked it just fine. I thought the plot had obvious problems and there were very few laughs, but at the end of the movie, all the kids in the audience clapped (I was surprised about that). It was mediocre, but since there's nothing else playing for kids right now, I think they were all thrilled with just getting to go to the movies.

On a positive note, the previews for some upcoming movies looked fairly promising (although they failed to include the rating, so I have to see if a couple will be appropriate for the kids.)

7. I think if you were to watch some of the upcoming movies first
then the bee movie, the contrasting difference in quality would be more marked.
But I'm glad your kids enjoyed it.
;)

Me? I'm looking forward to the Golden Compass. I think there's a very good chance that one will be good.

14. That was one of the previews I saw
but there was no mention of the rating, so I need to look it up.

9. I'm afraid of Beowulf.
Will it live up to the action packed campy goodness with glorious eye candy that 300 gave us?
Will it generate hours of enjoyable internet memes like 'this is sparta' gave us?

We can only hope.

10. I really wanna like Beowulf
but I'm afraid, once again, that they've screwed up a great classic of English literature.

15. I wish they'd do a really snazzy version of Gardner's "Grendel".
But that's an awful lot to wish for.
