I voted today
The township trustee and township fiscal officer positions were at stake as well as a couple of school board positions and a few levies.

There was an interesting candidate for township trustee that I almost voted for and I wish I had now. He was a dish washer at a local restaurant, had no political experience, and only a high school education. I decided to go with one of the better educated, more experienced candidates, but I'm kind of kicking myself now.

Being the tax and spend liberal that I am I voted for all of the levies even though it will result in higher taxes for me if they pass. There was a police levy, a fire department levy, and a human services levy.

I missed the 2006 elections because I was out on the road at the time and I forgot to cast an absentee ballot. I promised myself that I would never let that happen again.

1. I got my vote on too!
I always get such a charge out of it I swear. We didn't have any issues to vote on though, just people with D's by their name :headbang:

2. Do you guys have the computerized voting machines?
We have them here in Ohio. I noticed something new about them this time, though. They have a paper trail. There is a little machine off to the side of the console. Before you hit the "Cast Ballot" button a receipt will print up in the little machine that shows your choices. Once you hit "Cast Ballot" the paper receipt goes into storage in the machine.

3. Yeah but I got no paper to show
I feel real pleased with myself every time I vote anyway! But I don't have anything showing what I've done. Our machines haven't changed the last few times I voted so this time I didn't even pay attention, I just touched the screen.. which when you think of it could go wrong in soo many ways :scared: I think my county will go to Democrats though.
