MiniMandaRuth's homemade hot chocolate.
5 cups of milk.
7 generous teaspoons of chocolate powder (Or to taste)
Vanilla extract
Cinnamon

Heat milk in large saucepan over medium heat. When it's lukewarm, spoon in powder, stirring each time (And, if you are me, breaking up the little chunks of powder). When it's warmer, add a few drops of vanilla and cinnamon and serve! :9

1. Yummy! And a little cayenne or other hot red pepper.
And if you are using powdered chocolate, it will dissolve better if you add a little hot milk (or try Half&Half - much richer) to the powder in a cup, and make a paste and then a syrup with it, then put it back into the hot milk on the stove. That will keep it from clumping up.

6. Actually, not a lot of sugar...YMMV..
I am making mini-batches with powdered cocoa, minimal sweetener and fat-free half and half...it's smooth and goes down easy. I hate sweet cocoa and I use maybe less than a teaspoon of agave syrup. The taste is an earthy-sweet and mellow. I'll never go back to the packaged stuff....
