I finished my term paper and it blows!
Sweet christ I spent a lot of time on this thing and it was to no avail! It's 10 pages pure crap no matter how I carve this thing up. I essentially rewrote the damn thing tonight while editing it, and I'm just not seeing much of an improvement. What's worse however is after editing it my citations are all a mess and I'm no longer sure where the hell I got my facts from as I just shredded the original thing apart... I hate bending the truth on my bibliography, makes me feel so damn dirty when I hand something in.

I suck at writing, my grades on papers are all over the place.

1. Well, how many sources do you have?
I try to follow a source per page rule, so if it's a ten page paper I like to have at least ten sources. I find that works well because having some diversity in your footnotes is key. If you've got that, IMHO, you're well on your way.

5. I have 9
However I can only honestly say I directly used 6 of them in the writing of the paper.

2. GOD, you're actually making me feel guilty!

But seriously, a couple of questions:

1. Are you using MLA style?

2. Did you use easybib.com?

3. Did you...um...by any chance keep a list or print-outs of your sources? (PLEASE?)

4. Are you given another chance to rewrite?

If you rewrote it while editing it, it's probably better. You might not be able to see that just now.

4. It's sort of complex
Essentially its about analyzing the overarching trends post WW2 that has led Germany to become a modern day "post" industrial power and the role the country plays in the International Political Economy with specific emphasis on global production, trade, and monetary structures. It suffers heavily from trying to stuff too much into 10 pages.

13. simplify...you've got to cut some meat off those bones
there's no way in hell you pack enough words into 10 pages to develop that thesis.

how many "overarching trends" are you developing? pick the most important one and focus on that, any others get a hit and a lick.

"global production, trade and monetary structures" - any one of those is going to take 10 pages by itself.

you've bit off quite a bit there. ease up on the throttle.

16. I feel you
I am working on my Constitutional Law paper, and my ass is getting throughly handed to me.

Good luck

Also, your paper is super broad, narrow it down and it will be good to you.

17. I miss the days of term papers.....
I could actually use my intelligence and imagination to write something that would be judged on its merit, not office politics, or biases. If it's good, you're told it's good. Priceless.
