I am infinitely enriched by my experinces in class last night.
It's group presentation time.

Last night I learned:

1. The U.S. government "stole the Native Americans' land in 1918."

2. "About 120,000" people died as a result of Hurricane Katrina.

3. The U.S. government "also stole land from the 'ranchos,' or 'Mexican people,' leaving them with no homes."

:banghead:

1. You're way too old for this shit
I assume you need to get a bachelor's before you can move on to something at your level?

3. A fifteen-year-old is way too old for *this* shit.
It is ridiculous.

I have a year left and then I'll probably start working. Grad. school isn't logistically viable for me, in the next few years; I'm sure I'd enjoy it, though.

8. A fifteen-year-old
who heard halfway intelligent dinner conversation and who ever read a book, that is.

Sounds like your classmates were spared the burden of literacy.

his school's social studies program is expansive and excellent, with analysis of Gandhi, Native American issues, economics, South African history.

I love our progressive school!

I an stunned by how little people really know about American History (or world politics/geography, for that matter)

This is college, right? :scared:
