Actually they were saved! Really cute story.

My best friend lives in Martinez and was going to protest ..... my slogan ..... "Would June Cleaver shoot a beaver?".

3. LOL! I'd have been proud to protest with your friend.

It was dumber than dirt to announce that they were going to kill the whole beaver family after they've become the Martinez equivalent of the Boston Garden ducklings.

It's too bad they can't figure out a way to accommodate the beavers where they are and still have effective flood control.

The Chronicle writer was having fun with this update: In all Martinez, apparently no one favors solving the problem with a firearm or a beaver cleaver.
