I like hiccups. Who's with me?
(Sorry mods, if this counts as a bodily function thread, please feel free to lock it... I thought the rule against those were 'cause they are gross... and, well... hiccuping isn't gross... or at least I don't think so... so, anyway...)

I like hiccups because they're always surprising. You never expect them, and so it's like a little temporary break from knowing what to expect to be doing from moment to moment. Also, they're just funny.

I don't know why I felt like I wanted to share this today. It only makes me look weird(er), I know.

Just wanted to know if I'm the only one I guess.

4. What?
I don't want to get this thread locked, but sneezing is a bodily function that is often messy.

Gross!

12. No such thing.
You better be covering your nose!

But for goodness' sake don't stifle 'em... that'll hurt your ears.

Sorry... not meaning to be bossy here.

17. Hiccups + chronic back pain = agony!
When you have a bad back, every hiccup, every sneeze, ever cough can throw our your back and put you in screaming agony. So, don't mind me if I don't enjoy hiccups. :(

29. They work your abs if you have 'em long enough
Edited on Wed Nov-07-07 06:21 PM by darkstar
Just had a on and off half hour stretch this week. And, for real, my stomach was kind of sore next day. And I'm in OK shape.

And, as per ThomCat and others above, I remember thinking what a drag it would be to have just had some abdominal surgery, etc. Ouch

34. My sister had the hiccups today.
I took her to lunch- it started up in the middle of the meal. I told her my sure-fire cure and she tried it. Thirty seconds later they were gone.

Since I believe my cure is worth a lot of money, I don't think I'm gonna tell ya what it is.

But it works every time.
