Those commercials drive me nuts. Actually, all jewelery store commercials drive me nuts. First off, the shrieking jingles annoy the hell out of me ("It can only be Jared!"). Nothing makes me switch channels faster.

Secondly, they all act like if you don't give her a diamond from their particular store, you're lower than pond scum. And if you DO buy a diamond from their store, on the way over to her house to give it to her, every incredibly attactive woman you walk past will somehow know that you have a diamond on you and will give you sexy glances. Her entire family will worship you for the rest of their lives. And your hot girlfriend who you give the diamond to will immediately jump your bones pleading for sex.

My husband gets more riled up about the Kay commercials ("Every kiss begins with Kay") and always gives the finger to the TV when one comes on.

Actually, come to think of it, pretty much every jewelry store has irritating, stereotyping commercials that are designed to make both men and women feel inadequate and insecure about their relationship.

i haven't seen that one yet this year but i'm sure it will be on soon.

For their weather ventures show. The one where the voice over says "you're dead if you jump out of this airplane, until you do something." I am thinking every time I hear this "WELL DUH!!! If you don't pull the rip cord all you are is a messy lawn dart."

Diamonds are highly overrated anyway, as far as jewelry.
Lots of other minerals are prettier. The price of cubic carbon is a total propaganda con job.

And then there are practical gifts too. Any woman who judges your worth on how expensive the presents you give her are, has a real problem. And I'm a woman who doesn't judge that way.

I'm already seeing commercial breaks where every single commercial has a christmas theme, and Costco was filled with christmas stuff today. At least I didn't see too much of it before halloween... I think congress should pass a law that holiday themes and decorations can only be displayed in the actual month when the holiday occurs...
