74. A preamble:
This was taken at the Johnston atoll where I played a concert years ago.

It was a tiny rock in the Pacific where the U.S. used to conduct A bomb tests.

Part of the island was off limits because of plutonium contamination.
This place was also used to dismantle old nerve gas weapons (hence the gas mask and atropine syringes we were issued).

If that weren't enough, this place was used to store and eventually dispose of the United States Agent Orange stockpile after Viet Nam.

And, oh yeah, it was surrounded by hungry sharks.

(I'm aware that the shorts, and socks/sneakers combo is far from "rock star" apparel.)

Really, I wish you could see my outfit better. I wore on top a sheer black body suit that had flowing collar and sleeves, a la Stevie Nicks, with a full-length knit vest to at least give some semblance of privacy to my boobs. On the bottom I had on a black leather mini skirt and sheer black stockings with a seam up the back. And of course the cop hat. It was very, very Rock Diva.

well, maybe the time some uni guys carried my drums at a concert. I didn't even feel that way when we recorded with a hipster producer.


Most of the time I felt like a grad student who couldn't give up my rock and roll hobby.

96. This might work...
back in 1999, when I was thinner... :D I had long hair and a ponytail then, though it's hidden in this pic. It was a Jesus-rock/jazz/funk/folk/experimental band I was in back in the day, led by an eccentric and talented guitarist/songwriter...one of the few gigs I was able to get my Hammond to...



More recent, from a bar-band gig:
