RIP, Ouzo (3/97-11/9/07)
My ex and I had our yellow lab put down on Friday (still crying). He was wonderful dog. We called a mobile vet, so he was able to go peacefully at home with mom and dad by his side. He is buried on a gorgeous piece of land, where I know he's chasing rabbits and laying in the sun.....
I still can't believe he's gone. So, please join me in raising a glass to my Ouzo, my sweet, sweet, boy. I miss you, boy.

I hope it gets easier. I have 3 cats all over 10 years old. If it's this bad each time.....ugh, don't even want to think about it.

23. You're welcome.
:) I've had 13 dogs since birth. I've had to put down four dogs in my lifetime, and it's never easy. It's one of the hardest things I've ever had to do. But each of my beloved pets gave me so much love and affection that I'd never want to be without them. I was great to them, and they were great to me. I wouldn't have missed out on having them for anything. :)

18. So, so sorry Ouzo
I was beside myself when we had to put my last pooch down... she lived to the ripe old age of 15 and a half, but that didn't make it any easier

All dogs go to heaven, that's for sure :)

Do you think you'll adopt another one eventually?

24. Thanks, SallyMander.
My ex and I still share a border collie, so I still have her. She's a bit confused right now-wondering where her buddy is. I was never much of "dog person" until Ouzo (only had cats growing up), so I don't if I'll adopt another one. He really was one of a kind.

Edited on Mon Nov-12-07 05:07 PM by Capn Sunshine
They are empaths, they seem to be telepathic. They like their jobs.I'm sorry yours had to go. They all do, because they learn how to be good faster than people do, so they get to leave early.

45. My heart goes out to you
Bless you and your precious companion. It is one of the worst feelings in the world to put down or lose a dog. That happened to me in September, and it's just... indescribably painful, but it's hard to talk about because many people just don't understand.

I'm so sorry. Do you know about the Rainbow Bridge site? That helped me a lot when my dog was sick and then when she died.

Adopting a new dog from the shelter helped, but I know that is not the right response for everyone.

Bless you so much
And HUGS
And take care
