Is There Someone You Work With That Seems To Have It Out For You?
I'm beginning to think so...

although I am prone to paranoia...

having to explain something that has been approved, and budgeted for to someone who has no authority over me but is in a position to create a pot stirring, well, it is just part of life I guess.

:hi:

just thinking out loud

11. I figured. It seemed out of character for you to say something
like that seriously. But it never hurts to make sure. :)

2. Not really out to get me but he has serious mental issues.
I posted about it early Saturday morning here.

I pray to God that this guy gets fired soon. Everything is always someone else's fault and not his.His attitude is either you are with me or you're against me.The bad apple in the bunch. He has'nt yet grasped the concept that he is not a manager and he can't do what he wants to do. He has pissed off everybody and I am tired of him. He threatens people on a nightly basis but everyone just avoids him. I swear to God that he better stay out of my for now on. If he is not having a good night you best to believe that he is going to make sure that you have a bad night. I can't stand the motherfucker.

3. The way I see it, is if you have managed to escape dysfunctional parents and siblings,
and youhave Non OJ style lovers and fairly decent kids, then the Co-worker from hell will be out to get you!

5. In my line of work, there's ALWAYS someone who has it out for you.

We spend our first few months in a new place trying to figure out who it is. Sometimes they wander into your office the first day and announce themselves, God bless 'em. Sometimes they're sneaky about it, and it takes some time. But they're always out there.

6. There is one person I work with that has earned the anger of most of her coworkers.
She is cold, rude and ready to write people up at a moment's notice. I have been lucky enough to be able to ignore her most of the time, although I am anxiously awaiting the time I become a target.

7. I had 3 coworkers like that. I was the most experienced
and most qualified. They were drinking buddies who were pissed off that I wouldn't kowtow to them, or participate in their bigotry. They tried repeatedly to undermine my projects and my job. 2 got fired for frequent fuck-ups, and 1 quit just ahead of his main area of responsibility falling apart from mismanagement.

Not only am I still here, but I cleaned up their messes after they left.

12. Not anymore
I got canned after ten years with the company.

So I found another job, and I am much the better for the experience.

14. My coworker and I complained about our company charity money going to the Boy Scouts
since it is a discriminatory organization.

Ever since, the office manager, who had chosen it as her pet charity, has definitely been out to get us. Most recently, she complained that our Halloween decorations had "offended" someone and forced us to take them down.

:wtf:

But her nastiest maneuver is something I'm wondering if I should formally complain about. I had been sitting in a window cubicle for several years due to my Seasonal Affective Disorder. Several months ago, she told me that I wasn't eligible to sit there because I was a "level 5" employee and only "level 6" employees were allowed to have a window. My boss told her to shove it. So then she switched our cubicles with a group on the floor below, saying they needed to be "consolidated" on the upper floor. I still had a window, so I didn't complain.

But then a few months later, she moved us back up to our old section (which had remained fairly empty despite the "consolidation" that had been so necessary), except that I am now in a dark corner across the hall from my former window cubicle. Her excuse was that she needed the space on the floor below for another "consolidation" and there just weren't any window cubicles available anywhere else. By this time, our boss had retired and the new boss is in another state. She could hardly contain the triumph on her smug, nasty face as she showed me where I was moving.

I think what really irks her is that we are not employed by this office, but by Corporate, who leases out our space. So she has no authority over us other than her control over the facilities and staff moves. If we were locally paid, I'm certain she would have influenced the Office Head to fire us.

So, long story short, yes, I can relate. :hi:

16. Not again, SPK!
I have been having a problem with some colleagues since last Friday. I swear, we are living parallel lives or something.

Anyhow, I think I called their bluff today. I figured out a solution that benefitted everyone except these two malcontents! I looked like the hero and all they could do was stand there with their teeth in their mouths!

Now I have to hope this maneuver doesn't come back to bite me in the arse later..... :(

17. Yes, my manager...2nd writeup just today in fact
Edited on Mon Nov-12-07 11:02 PM by Digit
One more, and I am out of a job.

His latest tactic involves giving me some of the lousiest hours and since I am in sales, there are days and times when there is more business, but he gives those to my co-worker.
So, my stats are dropping and I am sure he will be pointing to THAT plus the writeups to substantiate getting rid of me.

Oh, and it is just because he wants another male his age around so he can discuss sports, etc.
I am female and old enough to be their mother.

Tomorrow, I have to work a 12 hour day...I swear he is trying to kill me.

18. try 3 out of 9 in my co-op
i have a kind of overbearing personality, and i bump into resistance often. you know, i say it is black, they say it is white. there were 3 of them in my studio. one of them went over the top, created a huge brouhaha, and whipped up the other two. the good news is that the 3 of them quit, and have been replaced by a really great group of folks. haha. i win.
if you figure out a way to peacefully co-exist with them, let me know. in the meantime you might try my approach and go for some scorched earth. sometimes you win.
take care friend.
