3. IMO it's the best combination of gore/horror/comedy since An American Werewolf in London

YMMV, if you're insane.

4. I DID see American Werewolf.
I found it to be a disturbing juxtaposition of humor and violence. That, for some reason, doesn't work for me.

But, apparently, I'm insane. :hi:

5. When done right, the humor is a good catharsis
And the juxtaposing makes it all the more pronounced.

When I see a rampaging carnivorous monster wallowing in blood amid its slug-brained zombie minions, I want to laugh about it!

8. Basically, comic relief. Okay, I get that
I guess I'm just not a fan of fantastical depictions of horror and violence. I just like violence and comedy, served up courtesy of Warner Bros :-)

6. How can a movie about extra-terrestrial slugs NOT be good?

7. Especially if they come and some prankster teaches them salty language
instead of English.

9. To me it was just "Night of the Creeps" with a bigger budget.
But since I love "Night of the Creeps," that's high praise.

10. I liked it
Had everything a good horror-comedy should have: gore, humor, slams on rednecks and 80's music.

But then again, I LOVE LOVE LOVE good gory horror movies. Can't wait until Crispin Glover's remake of "Wizard of Gore" comes out with the Suicide Girls.

12. I thought it was good, but not great.
And I LOVE the horror/comedy genre. Evil Dead 2 and Shawn of the Dead are two of my favorite movies of all time. I just can't call it the best zombie film because of some excellent recent entries. Although not a comedy, 28 Weeks Later was just an amazing zombie film altogether. First film in a very long time to actually give me a good fright.

15. I found it to be quite doodoo.
28 Days Later... now that was a good zombie-ish viral pandemic flick.

16. Well, they kind of had a different tone, wouldn't you say?
And Slither had a substantially higher tentacled-monster-quotient, which surely must count for something.
