Britney Spears' contribution to UNICEF charity auction: ONE signed copy of her new CD.
Britney Spears is the new Mother Teresa

http://thesuperficial.com/2007/11/britney_spears_is_the_new_mother_teresa.php

Britney Spears is helping raise money for UNICEF by participating in a charity auction with X17. The item Britney donated: One signed copy of her new album “Blackout.” Clearly her generosity knows no bound, but it does have a press release:

"I think it's important to give back and with the release of Blackout, this seemed like the perfect opportunity to give the fans a chance to bid on something to help children everywhere.”

Perhaps a more opportune time for Britney Spears to auction off an autographed copy of her new album might have been, I dunno, about two weeks ago when it came out. Yeah, back when these other people, I think they’re called a record label, were trying to promote it without her. But, it’s cool. What nobody understands is that Britney was too busy eating fried chicken and dressing like a slutty pirate. Because she loves the children so much.

Edit: So I scoped out the auction on eBay. At the time of this post it was up to $7200.00. But here’s the best part: “The pop princess has autographed both the insert and the CD in black permanent marker.” Ooh, yes, permanent marker! That shit’s permanent. Where’s my wallet?

1. My god, so selfless...
Could it be that we have a Bono in training here? She just gives until it hurts, then gives just a little more. The world could learn a whole lot from Britney's generosity.

3. Only one? How very sub-Gen-Y of her...
As in "Why am I bothering? Oh yes, tokenism and another 900 seconds of fame. Besides, my children prefer iPods to real needs - na nah nee-nah nahhh."

:hide:

In all seriousness, she's falling apart. I know, in this world, especially in this day and age it's not easy to do, but the stories of her latest incidents are so many it defies rational description.

Besides, the album would have meant more 5 years ago. :(
