4. He does indeed SUCK.
lamest act in the history of rock and roll. As Miles Davis said "that non playing motherfucker". he also has the biggest ego of anyone ever.

every year, I seem to get passes or tickets to see his lame ass. it is always the same. Same songs, same jams, same boring ass AOR crapola. Last time I made sure he was loking right at me and I flipped him off and left. Fuck that jerk-off.

5. Gotta disagree on this one bennyboy.
Hasn't done anything interesting in decades (but to me , the radio fodder stuff is listenable if forgettable) but saw the SMB in Chicago , August '69 opening for Sly and the Family Stone. Both bands kicked major ass. Don't know about the ego, but wouldn't be the first or last musician with a severely oversized ego if true ( and from our exchanges, you obviously know your shit, Benny, so I'll take your word for it). Never saw either band again, but its still one of the better shows I've ever seen (of course Sly is the main reason).

8. Up unitl "the Joker" he was okay.....
Edited on Tue Nov-13-07 08:44 PM by Bennyboy
used to love the Anthology album. Savin' Grace, Buy Me A Mercury, Going to Mexico, Space Cowboy etc were all good songs of the time.

But that was then. Way then. Now he is the most boring band ever. Saw him open for the Grateful Dead for three day in vegas (91?) and he did three days of note for notes. God I ahted him by the third day. I would much rather have my ears poked out than listen to that shit again.

16. Gaaaahhhh early MTV days flashback
I used to run screaming from the room when they aired "Abracadabra"--and that was approximately every hour on the hour. GODS I hated that song and SMB. Plus there's something about his voice that goes right through me; clearly we don't vibrate at the same frequency.

His interview I saw where he state he wanted to only write happy songs reminded me of the more talented but equally crippled Paul McCartney.
