15. Dogfish Head is local to Deleware and states surrounding
though the actual Dogfish Head, or point, is on an island off the coast of Maine, according to a friend whose family has a place on that island. She knows one of the owners whose family also has a place there.

I also like some of the Wild Goose beers, and the Flying Dog beers, all of which are manufactured in this area. Maryland, mid=Atlantic.

The thing is, micro-breweries are a local art. We will not know each others beers.

2. Oh Dog do I have to choose?
They're all good... some are bad but if you're asking me to choose between Lost Coast in Eureka, Russian River in Sac or McMenamins in Portland....or any of the other fine breweries in the world...I just can't...

4. Milly's Tavern
OK, it's the only Brew Pub in town, but I like the owner. If you come to Manchester for the primary, stop by.

I should also give a mention to the Ozark Brewing Company in Faytetteville, Arkansas. The Hellfire Pizza (buffalo sauce instead of tomato sauce, topped with jalapenos and andouille) went nicely with their hefie weizen.

7. Coopersmith's...
Ft. Collins. They have a green chili (Sigrids, if I remember correctly) that will knock your socks off! Have had it imported to Illinois a few times. Awesome is the only descriptive word I am capable of using at this time; however, there are many, MANY, more.

8. Golden Valley Brewery...
McMinnville, Oregon...

Their Red Thistle Ale (on tap) is most excellent! And their food is great!

9. Sheepscot Valley Brewing Company - One man, selling only growlers of beer.
He brews it in his barn. Damned good beer.

For bigger micro brews I'd go Shipyard, because their export ale is one of the finest damned beers I've ever had.

11. North Coast Brewing Co..>Fort Bragg CA
Michael Jackson (the beer guy not the almost white black guy)called it one of the five best breweries in the world. Old Rasputin. Imperial Stout. Almost like food. Brother Felonious, the best belgian style I have ever had.

Sierra Nevada Brewing Co Chico CA. excellent brewery. If you go to the brewery they have brews on tap that you cannot get in the stores. They also have excellent food.
