Do you ever have one of those commutes...
...where you feel like you could personally strangle each and every single person on the road with your bare hands.

I had one of those commutes this afternoon. x(

So consider yourself lucky, No Turn Signal Guy. I hope you feel fortunate, Person Driving 45 in a 65 Zone During Rush Hour. Worry not, Woman Talking on Cell Phone While Barely Managing to Stay in Only TWO Lanes. You are all safe.

Until I get the laser cannon attached to the hood of my car. Then you're all fucked.

:nuke: :nuke: :nuke:

So how was YOUR day, Lounge?

1. So am I to take it that nobody in the Lounge has ever had a lousy commute?
Not one? Series?

Has anybody EVER commuted? Driven a car? Dealt with idiots?

Anybody? Anybody?

2. If you're in upstate NY then I have to apologize... I never should have let my dad drive today...

4. Nope. I'm over in Colorado.
There are a whole different breed of desperately under qualified drivers on our roads.

3. Oh yeah!
Last night on "The 5" was a real treat.

To the two Benzes that saw my turn signal and sped up so's not to let me in, you will get yours.

5. Ahh... Fun stuff!
I swear... The number of drivers on the road today must have quadrupled over yesterday. I don't know what was going on, but yesterday it felt like nobody was on the roads. Today, the roads are packed and the idiots are out in force.

Maybe instead of a laser, I'll just get a missile launcher installed. That would make a louder, more explodey statement.

8. I have found an inverse relationship between the amount spent on the car
and the likelihood of them letting me in when I have my turn signal on.

11. There should be some sort of study about that sort of thing.
Does having a shiny, fancy, expensive car make you a dick? Science will be the judge!

12. What I find really funny though
is that the Bentleys, and the super duper expensive cars' owners seem to drive more courteously than the Beemers, Lexus, Benz, and Infiniti drivers.

15. I think you've got the cause and effect backwards actually.
Being a dick inspires one to get a shiny, fancy, expensive car.

6. I often wish I had steel bumpers surrounding my car.
With a big old fisher plow on the front.

So I could just smash through the fuckers.

7. Add this one
Screech to a stop halfway past the sign then make a left turn at a four way stop ahead of your turn while talking on a cell phone.

I had two of those tonight.

10. Wow. Haven't seen one of those in a while!
People like that make me want to use a flamethrower regularly.

13. I work on a college campus
It's an everyday occurence here. College students cannot grasp how four way stops work and they have cell phones permanently glued to their ears. They think a four way stop means 'stop briefly then go no matter how many other cars are waiting. And don't stop your cell phone conversation for one second even if it means hitting someone.'

14. I'm just glad my commute no longer takes me near CU.
Last year my favorite person was a motorcyclist who decided weaving in and out of every 4 foot gap that opened up in the road wasn't enough. He decided that, when traffic slowed down to a craw that he would plow through between cars, driving right on the white dotted line in order to push through to the front. I know it's more common in bigger cities and in Europe, but I've never seen ANYBODY do that around here before.

I would have smacked him upside the head, but he wasn't wearing a helmet so... Hmm. Maybe that would have been a good idea after all.

16. When 3 people were shot on Highway 101 in 3 days here in the Bay Area those were the worst commutes
Because I was busy not getting next to any cars and being wary of all the cars near my own and careful not to piss anyone off.

If I wanted to feel like that I could live in LA!
