Sending good thoughts out to Thomcat
Another procedure today and I know he could use the vibes.

Also, if you want to post a joke, PM a photo to him or flirt a bit when he shows up, I'm sure he'd love it.

 Thomcat. Hope you're okay sweetie.

3. It went much better this time.
I'm not in agony like I was after the last epidural. I think I might even be in less pain than I usually am.

I'll know for sure by the end of the day. Please keep your fingers crossed that this goes well. :)

that she believes are related to epidurals.

18. No. No lasting effects.
Though I don't doubt that it's very possible.

I had temporary nerve compression last time that caused pain in my feet. And every time I moved I felt like I was being stabbed in the back. If that was permanent I'd be a basket case right now. :(

I only agreed to this proceedure because my pain manangement doctor has a great reputation as a surgeon, and because he used imaging (I think they used x-ray) to guide the entire proceedure. He doesn't do it by feel the way most epidurals are done.

I hope your wife's pain eventually went away, or at least is under control.

Family medical stuff (my awesome husband gave me a real scare but he's on the mend now).

Been poking in lately just for something to keep my mind off things.

Saw a thread for you and HAD to post good thoughts to you. I still read all of your posts when I do log on and hope you're hanging in there. Sounds like it's been tough for a while now.

69. Wow - 2007 just sucked all the way around, then, huh?
Was this "expected" to some degree (i.e. - as things progress) or did it just jump up on you? Not that one is any easier than the other, I guess I'm just wondering if 2008 stands any chance of being easier/better/less challenging?

Honestly, it's been the toughest, most frightening year of my life as well. And yeah, a lot of good people helped me get through it. People never cease to amaze me.

71. It was all very unexpected.
My level of pain had been stable and manageable for years. Then it all suddenly nosedived.

I started getting much more frequent migraine headaches (several per week).
Then I was diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthitis, and it decided to very quickly destroy my hands and feet.
And then because of the RA I can't stand or walk worth a damn even on crutches, which made my back much, much worse.
x(

It's a damned good thing I'm too stuborn to know how to stop. :P

I'd really like to end the year on a good note, and an upward trend for all of next year. :bounce:

I didn't know much of the details. I hope the treatments you're getting now help - it's got to be really frustrating on top of being painful and debilitating.

I will keep my fingers crossed and hopes high that the year ends on a good note for you.

Best...

It's been 4 hours, the local and my painkiller have certainly worn off by now and I'm only in moderate pain. My back hurts, but not enough for me to reach for the pills. So this is definitely a big improvement.
:woohoo:

I've been warned that if this works the pain relief might be temporary, or some of it might be long term. Now that I know the procedure hasn't caused more pain, I'm a winner even if it's only temporarily. Here's hoping some of this is permanent!

so obviously it's a manageable amount of pain. :7

I'm a frustrated artistic soul with no artistic outlet. I love seeing what other people can do.

I love the comments on that first sketch, and I'm seriously impressed that your portraits look look awesome. :)

I hope you survived that court and came out ahead. :(

Okay, now I'm craving coffee. :P

87. for the most part it did
it was the last one i had

i'm due for some more sometime soon

i'll stick it out as long as i can

take my neurontin

but my neck is starting to hurt some

and my arms go numb sometimes too

Strange for me was, that when the shot went in, it burned and I could feel "sounds" in my neck, weird, and i felt a little strange like light headed for a bit.

Then it went away and i was okay

but the first 2 times i had pain at the injection site once in a while after that

88. I think, if they push the needle in wrong, or too far
they're bruising the spine somewhere, somehow. And the fact that it's your spine means you can end up feeling almost anything anywhere. :(

My back felt bruised or a week after the last one, but people told me there was no bruise there.

He's one of five Maine Coons who live with me so I had better be nice to them - they could eat me in my sleep. As it is, they just sleep on me.

I love Maine Coons! My first cat was a Maine Coon and he owned me from when I was 13 until 31. All the truly important years of my life, he was there with me.

I've loved Maine Coons ever since. They're a lot of work to brush and keep clean, but they're absolutely worth every minute of it. :loveya:

123. Got this one from a friend today. Sounds appropriate.
When you have a "I Hate My Job" day, try this:
On your way home from work, stop at your pharmacy and go to
the thermometer section and purchase a rectal thermometer made
by Johnson & Johnson. Be very sure you get this brand.
When you get home, lock your doors, draw the curtains and disconnect
the phone so you will not be disturbed. Change into very comfortable clothing
and sit in your favorite chair.
Open the package and remove the thermometer. Now, carefully place it
on a table or a surface so that it will not become chipped or broken.

Now the fun part begins. Take out the literature from the box and
read it carefully. You will notice that in small print there is a statement:
"Every Rectal Thermometer made by Johnson & Johnson is personally
tested and then sanitized".

Now, close your eyes and repeat out loud five times, "I am so glad I
do not work in the thermometer quality control dept. at Johnson & Johnson."

HAVE A NICE DAY AND REMEMBER, THERE IS ALWAYS SOMEONE ELSE WITH A JOB THAT IS MORE OF A PAIN IN THE BUTT THAN YOURS.......
