President criticizes self while emulating Dennis Kucinich
August 4, 2003

Dennis Kucinich’s growing support leads Bush-Cheney team to try new strategy.

Crawford, Texas — In light of Democratic Presidential candidate Dennis Kucinich’s growing popularity, spurred in large part by his willingness to critique the President on a variety of issues, President Bush is introducing a new tactic in his campaign. The President has begun to criticize himself in an effort to reach undecided and independent voters.

“I’m taking the entire month off here at my ranch, and at the same time I’m trying to cut overtime pay for millions of Americans,” the President said outside his Crawford, Texas ranch. “Why, that’s just crazy!”

Political adviser Karl Rove said that despite warnings from media strategists and the DLC (Democratic Leadership Council) that Kucinich’s attacks on the President would backfire, the strategy “isn’t hurting them at all. I now feel that the best way to counter Kucinich’s message is to emulate it ourselves as best we can.”

Meanwhile, President Bush continued to attack himself during an impromptu press conference at his ranch.

“I promised to recover the momentum of our economy… What have I done? Nothing! I pledged to reward the effort and enterprise of working Americans. What have I done? Nothing!” the President said.

“It’s time somebody stood up to me. And what better person than me?”

1. sushi wouldnt it be great if Dennis gained momentum like Dean
remember at this time in 67 no one knew Bobby was going to enter. Kucinich is the best of the 9, hes everything I could expect: he comes from humble beginnings so he is self made, hes all around progressive, unlike fellow opponent of the Iraq War, Dennis actually spoke at war rallies.
I would love to see him get some momentum and you know Bobby wasnt in the race this time 1967 so we must hope.

4. I know its a shame really
He's gonna get his first donation from me soon and I am gonna volunteer for him. Its so hard for me to support him finacially, I make min wage and I am only 16. This guy could be big, way bigger than Dean. He literally is the people's candiate. He's a great guy too, he is self made and the only others you can say that about are Gephardt and Edwards and Dennis was even more humble. I like him on the isssues and in some ways I can identify with him and when it comes down to him and Dean imo it should be overwhelming for Dennis.

6. yeah you are right
but something tells me they will disregard Dennis. I think if he is listened to and people will flock to him, if Wellstone was in I would support him and so would Dennis, and honestly he would be beating Dean I think. Wellstone was a true all around progressive, Dean is like most democrats progressive on social issues but hes not wellstone or any of the other more talented democrats on economics. Bobby was a great guy and I think Kucinich is the new RFK not Dean. No offense to Dean supporters but theres really nothing new that he has in mind or nothing that inspires me.

5. Bush Pledges to Learn French
CRAWFORD, Texas. The new, re-invented George Bush has apologized for not knowing how to speak French. "Gosh, I had no idea it was so important!" said the nation's chief executive. "Just the other day Laura cooked up some jambes de grenouille, and it was real good. Better'n chicken-fried armadillo."

A White House spokesman said that the President had been embarrassed into his six day a week intensive course. "But he's taking to it like a duck takes to water," said the source, who declined to be identified. "His comprehension is way up since last week."
