Poll question: What's your favorite Thanksgiving sitcom episode?
Edited on Fri Nov-16-07 07:31 PM by faygokid
I know, I know, there's plenty more, and shows like Friends had many Thanksgiving episodes. Some older suggestions would be nice!

WKRP hands down. When Nessman is reporting on what the helicopter's sign says is so funny.

Here it is http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4o5L9jiIfbY

8. I voted for Friends
so I could vote against WKRP. WKRP is probably my favorite tv show of all time, but I loathe that episode with a passion.

10. Cruelty to animals, perhaps?
That always bothered me, too, but I accept the Dramatic License.

12. I'm about as big a KRP freak as you'll find
But the writing for "The Bob Newhart Show," as with all MTM productions, was virtually without peer. In "Over the River and Through the Woods," Newhart and Jack Riley (Elliot Carlin) were just devastating, and the bit where the four drunken friends are ordering Chinese food via phone is one of the funniest and best-done bits in sitcom history.

"WKRP," on the other hand, had much funnier bits, IMO, than the "turkey drop," which I thought was derivative and over-done. It was funny, yeah — but not even the funniest bit they ever did.

There was a throw-away scene in a KRP episode (and I'm damned if I can remember which one) that had Mr. Carlson wrestling quite unsuccessfully with the venetian blinds and a desk drawer in his office. No one ever talks about it — perhaps because it wasn't integral to the plot in any way — but it may be the singularly funniest thing I've ever seen on television.
