My niece just had her baby today!
:woohoo::toast::woohoo::toast::woohoo::toast::woohoo:

8 pounds and 8 ounces, 21 inches long. His name is Zachary. Mother and child are healthy and doing well last we heard.

Tomorrow we make the two-hour drive to the hospital in Waco to see our new grand-nephew (and the proud mama and papa). I'm excited!

3. Mazel tov--and welcome to great-unclehood!
It's great fun--sort of like being a grandparent but with no responsibilities. You get to be eccentric, too! :toast: to Mom and Dad an little Zachary!

8. Oooh! Congratulations to you too!
I didn't know! How are you all doing now?

You must have pulled through all the sleepless nights!

Good for you! :) The smiles must be coming daily now, from your little one! ;)

10. thank you!!
Yes, we pushed past the sleepless nights. I can't complain now. He'll usually do at least an 11:00 - 5:30 stretch for me. Which is great.

He is smiling a lot and it just warms the heart. He started to get his first tooth yesterday!!!! He won't even be 4 mos until next week. He's outgrown so many clothes - I packed up his NB and 0-3 month outfits last weekend and almost cried. (now he has some 3-6 mo outfits that are too small!) Everyone told me how fast babies grow and how fast time goes, but my goodness.......

It's a wonderful experience. I just never knew how much you could love someone. It's also scary - I worry about everything all the time... :)

11. Oh, you are in the best of time right now!
The happy, cooing, sleeping six hours and they can't walk yet!!

Enjoy them all sweetie! I can tell you are so happy and enjoying all of it!

Good for you! :D They're fun, aren't they, when you get past that first 3 months?

And already getting teeth?! WoW! You must be so proud and you should be!!

Good on you, Momma! You're obviously doing a great job!

My second oldest was in 6 month old clothing as a newborn!! I know what you mean! :P

 to you! You sound so happy and that's good to see! ;)

14. congratulations, does it make you feel old? My first grand niece was just
born in May, and I have not gotten to meet her yet. She is cute though. I know you will be his favorite uncle, and Ginbarn will be a great auntie.

15. It's weird - I don't feel much different, but ginbarn said she feels older
The new mom has two younger brothers who are now attending college, and it is weird to think of them as uncles, especially since one of them's only 19. They've been very supportive of her through the whole process, though.
