Does anything get rid of dark circles under the eyes?
I don't know very much about cosmetics or skin products, but I have a problem that has bothered me for a few years now. As a chronic insomniac I frequently have dark circles under my eyes--in fact, I seem to have them most of the time. Lately people have started to make comments about me looking tired.

Now I'm a bit self conscious about this. Does anyone know if any products work to get rid of dark circles?

6. Not anymore, unfortunately..unless you are in Canada.
For some reason, the Prep H in America is now missing the key ingredient that was helping. Canadian drugstores still carry the right formulation, however.

5. makeupalley.com (edited with info now!)

is a wonderful resource for this info. Go to the boards, check the skincare board, use the search.
I will also check for you and get back to you.

EDIT:
Products with Vitamin K
A vitamin C cream (vitamin C really does do wonders for skin! for extended info on general vit.c use; go to http://www.smartskincare.com/treatments/topical/vitc.html; I recommend getting the info pack)
Read this: http://www.makeupalley.com/user/notepad/Marsen
Try to reduce your caffeine intake
Possibly CoQ10 supplement..I have to do some more digging on this.
Another possible remedy:
Go to your grocery store. Buy a box of regular, old fashioned unflavored gelatin (Knox, for example)

Take a small cup or bowl and put in 1/4 teaspoon of the gelatin mix. Add one Tablespoon of boiling water & stir for a minute.

Test it on your wrist to make sure it is not too hot. Then, using a cotton ball, pat it under your eyes as you would an eye cream or gel. Go lie down and listen to some music, or take a bath & let it stay on for at least 30 minutes. Then just rinse it off.

It will not remove your circles on the first application (but you will notice a difference), but if you do it daily for a week, and then 2-3 times a week for maintenance, you should notice a drastic reduction in dark circles.KEEP A MOIST WASHCLOTH HANDY! This will harden into a really hard shell if you don't keep it moist and irritiate your tissue.

There's more..I'll go search and post back.

I am reading all of them. They are much appreciated. It was really, really embarrasing to ask this question. Men aren't supposed to care about petty shit like this. But I can tell that my dark circles are distracting people.

8. Please, don't be embarrased.
More and more men are realizing that it is just good common sense to have some basic skin care. Also, the amount of pollutants in the air; and the thinning ozone layer allowing in a lot of damaging sun rays are ageing people a lot quicker; and causing problems.

If you ever want some help for other problems, I rec The Skin Care Solution by Dr. Leslie Baumann,MD. She's treated a lot of men, so her recs are equally formulated for both sexes.

Good luck with the info.

I think I've seen OTC products (for men) that claim to do just this at the drugstore. Haven't tried 'em, myself....

These are some good tips. I will try these ideas, since most of the products mentioned are already in my home--except for cucumber.

13. Sometimes..
...dark circles are caused by allergies.. and there is nothing a person can do to get rid of them. Unless they are fortunate enough to get rid of their allergies! Good luck.
