1. Amateurs
You wanna read a police log? This one's quasi-famous:

Arcata Eye: The mildly objectionable weekly newspaper for Arcata, California.

An example:

If yelling and staring didn’t win you over, behold my falling down – September 25, 2007

6:53 p.m.
Two men shared hearty draughts of thirst-quenching goodness from a container inside a paper bag at a Uniontown shopping center. The crafty concealment tactic didn’t necessarily deter suspicion though, and police were called. Shockingly, one bag-gulpateer turned out to be drunk, of all things, and went to the Pink House.

a few weeks ago, reading the Star Tribune I came across the police blotter section in which I read the following:

Police were contacted because a man in a chicken suit was stumbling down the side of the road, police arrived and called his MOM to give him a ride home.

You cant make this stuff up people...

6. That reminds me of an amusing moment at the Veterans Day parade
A police officer on a motorcycle slowed down and threw some schwag at the crowd, and I caught it: a carabiner that read "Join the CHP" on one side and "2007, the Year of the Pig" on the other.
