The newest member of the Puerco-bellies household.
I think I'll name her Cutty. She is a rare old Highland Park Combo rock saw/Polisher, I found it on craigslist down in Lake Elsinore. It is a steal for $200. Lapidary equipment is expensive, and hard to find. I was so happy find this one I did not even bargain him down.

Here she is NAKED!

The arbor is true and uses a rubber bushing for quite smooth operation.

Now all I have to do is find a source for sawblades, and sanding belts here in L.A.

3. Oh yea!
I have access to a lapidary shop through a club I'm in, but now all I have to do is head out to the garage to cut turquoise, stone, or shell. Now that I have a lapidary machine next to my workbench I can start making channel inlay jewelry. It's another step up in difficulty, but I love the art form and the challenge.

2. Hot diggy! You're going to have some Big Cab-Cutting fun with that!
I've been out of the jewelry business for a long time, but $200 seems like a bargain.

4. I think it is.
Little Loretone 4" saws are going in the mid two hundreds, and this is a 6" with a built in sliding clamp, two diamond shaping wheel, and most important a 6" expandable drum for quick change of belts for all but the finish polish.

I am jazzed, now only if my little torch regulators will get here.

6. I'll keep that in mind.
Channel inlay is going to be a challenge, but the results are well worth it.
