Do you ever do something really stupid
like in a panic cause you are worried and think something might be wrong?

I did and I think I made someone mad or upset with me doing that and i feel terrible right now about it.

I am such a worry wart that I just need to chill.

:hi:

17. So sorry..
My actions are always insane...mostly people laugh at me...but I know how to overreact, and it can be problematic....
Forgiveness is always there....please try not to be so hard on yourself..
I ruminate...I get the feeling that you're the same?
Hard cycle to break....
Please feel better..

peace~

3. My dear Southpawkicker...
Please do chill, sweetie...

Worrying is almost unavoidable, but it can hurt you so badly...

Your helplessness can make you crazy, I know...

10. tell me about it
i went into a frenzied maniacal state, and had terrible things happening to someone, then i find out they are fine.

and i upset them because i was in this frenzy trying to reach them.

I have done this all my life peg

it is insane

freaking out

need to learn to breathe, and think rationally

and not panic about things

i liken it to being a little kid lost at the fair, which i always worried about as a kid

:eyes:

:grr:

i'm mad at myself about it really

7. just lose my mind for a while
and go into worry overdrive about something that is pretty far down the realm of possibilities

and can't figure out why you do it over and over in different circumstances?

when I think I'm going to hear from someone i love and I don't, I start thinking that something has "happened" to them sometimes.

Like an accident, a fall, or something.

Maybe because I'm a klutz myself and have fallen off the porch 2 or 3 times and lucked out in that i landed on the grass and not concrete.

or that i have nearly fallen down my stairs several times

I can't get a handle on this and i've done this ALL of my life and I feel stupid then when I find out they are okay, and that I've just acted like some kind of total freakout

:(

9. in cases like that I ask myself
"what would I be doing right now if I wasn't insane??"

usually the answer is something like "the dishes" or "laundry"

I then go do that prosaic action and it helps ground me and calm me

maybe it can do the same for you?

11. a sane person would do that
but apparently i have not been able to do that

but i understand where you are coming from

i am beyond just an anxious person AZ, I come by it honestly though, it is a gift of genetics apparently.

16. I never said it was easy to do
just that I would force myself to do it (usually, but not always)

and it usually helped.

not immediately but eventually

the other thing I did for a long time was just sit and name the feeling

"fear"

"terror"

"worry"

as the thought or feeling came up I'd name it over and over and over

eventually, the feelings became like old friends and almost humorous.

instead of owning me, I owned them

it took time but it worked for me

you have to choose.

either HP's in control of EVERYTHING or nothing at all

Feelings aren't facts my friend.

5. Remember
Edited on Wed Nov-21-07 12:45 AM by Cheney Killed Bambi
what's in your head and what's in the world are two entirely separate things.

I am also an intense worrier. But learning to internalize the above sentiment has helped me quite a bit.

6. All the time.
I do the wrong thing all too often.

Especially when I think of myself as someone who does not.

18. I do exactly the same thing
Usually it's over something trivial. But one I had a boyfriend who had moved back east for work. A lot of weird stuff was going on. I got a very strange email (from him apparently) saying he had had a stroke. I was frantic with worry but there was no I could call. I called his cell phone repeatedly (like 10 times in 12 hours or so). I finally did hear from him and he was okay. I subsequently found out he had been lying to me from the beginning so it's just as well it ended.

But I have been known to call people over and over again when I don't hear from them when I expect to. I have really tried to curb that particular impulse because it is sort of freaky (at the very least!).

But I do a lot of crazy things when I am worried or upset.

20. eeeeeeeeek!
yer me

:hi:

:pals:

it is freaky

and it freaks people out i guess

it always seems halfway rational

of course

i once convinced myself that i had cancer and while i had some symptoms, my doctor didn't think it did, but i pretty much made him work me up for it.
didn't have it thank goodness.

but the intense anxiety that i felt around that led me to realize that i need help

i have done better but

apparently i still freak out

:eyes:
