2. paying players bounties....in this case money was paid...allegedly...
to defensive linemen to hold a back under 100 yards. How thats accomplished?

5. I thought bounty payments were for illegal hits and intentionally
injuring someone.

Incentives for players to keep a running back under 100 yds are common in contracts.

11. What's wrong with that?
They are always offering incentives to stop someone.

3. Why does the NFL outlaw this?
What's the rationale behind it?

4. this is the first I have heard of an actual investigation.
I remember Buddy Ryan doing it with the Eagles. I am sure it is commonplace.

7. It sounds like there's a rule against it:
From http://www.wissports.net/playground/tm.asp?m=738970

League rules prohibit teams and players "from offering or accepting bonuses to a player for his or his team's performance against a particular team, a particular opposing player or players, or a particular group of an opposing team."

13. Buddy supposedly offered a bounty to
pulverize a kicker (ex-eagle Luis Zendajas?). That seems worse than a little side-action.

10. VERY interesting.
I am sure Adrian Peterson would be very interested in the outcome of this investigation.

14. If this were about headhunting, it would be newsworthy
This is just mid-level bureaucratic rules lawyers with nothing better to do than try to stir up controversy.

Oh, and by the way, NFL, go fuck yourselves for putting the Nov. 29th game on the NFL Network only.
