3. I love the mammatus clouds in the bottom one.
Your purse cat kind of looks like my Tiger.

And I hope my wife lets me decorate the tree this weekend.

Have a Happy Thanksgiving.

22. I like old barns.
It is sad to drive through the country and see old farmhouses and barns rotting away, cause there is no one to take care of them.

I usually have a cat nose poking up under my arm when I eat. She thinks she needs people food all the time.

21. Yes Tiger has the same issue.
When we got her as a kitten she was covered in fleas. She developed a psychosis about her skin itching. She wore a cone collar for nearly 6 months. She would make herself bloody. We got hair back on her lower body but her tummy never really regrew.

23. Pickles goes through phases. She'll let it all grow back for a while, then
start back in on herself again.

It's not fleas for her. She's never even been outside.

24. She does not have fleas now.
She just thinks she does. Part of it is also her skin gets dry, and we had to stop using clay type litters.

17. I wish I lived in the mountains with views like that.
We have an apple orchard just up the road from Lubbock and they make the best apple butter and cider.

It takes me a couple hours to get the mountains so I may be closer to these views but I share your wish to actually live in the mountains. That's my plan for retirement.

And a Sonnet.

Do all the leaves fall at night from the trees?
I raised my eye up to the cold day sky,
Scant wispy clouds, scattered on the blue breeze.
I, wondering when the leaves chose to die.

Golden browns, oranges and yellows were there
days before. Now, emptiness fills my stare.
Did all this happen while I dreamed and slept?
Secrets strewn on the hidden ground, not kept.

Now the months of the snow, the chilling cold,
sleeping trees empty around me. Branches
unadorned and thin reaching for chances
of death. Aged another year, feeling old.

The absence of your cover is one thing
telling me life begins again in Spring.

:hi:

EDIT: missed an "s" in subject :D

34. It is amazing how a little dampness makes color stand out.
I wish our trees here would turn more colors, most don't drop their leaves til the first freeze, then they just drop them without turning.

35. does anything ever change with these people?
Here's my contribution, which I found in the Bridgeman Library collection of Grove Art Online. It's a Republican politician as a turkey. Note the dollar footprints. The cartoon depicts Republican politician Mark Hanna (1837-1904) as "The Modern Bird of American Freedom."

A fat, pasty-faced bald white politician. One-hundred years later, what do we have? More of the same.

Thanks for starting this thread, Texas1928! This type of thread is one of the things that I love about DU.
