4. I hear ya.
I worked the day after Thanksgiving last year, too (different job, but I was the newest person in the dept., so I had to be there). I probably could have taken the day off today, but I've only been here 5 months and felt weird about asking off. If, G-d willing, I'm still at this place next year, I'll definitely see if I can take the day off. It was a ghost town today.

3. As a business owner, there's no specific day when I HAVE to work, but there are
many days when I'd damn well BETTER get some work done, or people will get hungry around this house.

Not personally all by myself. But I am one of the cogs.

9. I just quit my job before I moved... but had I not done so, I don't think
I would have had to work today. I'm fairly certain we get Thursday and Friday off on Thanksgiving week.
However, the next day is when the fun begins.
