Me? I think it's going to be totally different, but equally bad shit. Mid-decades seem to show the greatest shift in culture and technology. 1991 wasn't much different than 1988 - but 1999 was way different than 1991.

I think the Democratic President, and Democratic Congress are going to lock horns with the Republican Supreme Court. Indie labels will start making more money than major labels in the end of this decade. There will be a large anti-corporate groundswell among the Americans.

At the same time, the Republicans usually don't spend too much time licking their wounds. Expect to see dirty tricks on a scale that makes any possible involvement or knowledge of the 9/11 attacks pale in comparison.

Shit, I'd say 1999 was a lot more like 1993 than 1993 was like 1987, and those are both gaps of 6 years.
