Fsck circuit city, best buy has it.
Shitload of people there tonight. I went in just to get a hard drive to archive my data.

Much to my amazement, the model I wanted was 50% off.

So was an ergonomic mouse (Logitech MX) that I didn't pay $100 for when it came out. It was on sale for 50% off too.

Nice to have a good mouse again (the Logitech G5 is nice, but I never really got used to the shape for detail photo editing... the cord sucks too. And not in a good way.)

When I got home, I looked at the website - sold out, they said (but there were 20 hard drives and 18 mice on tables...)

1. Shopping on black Friday can be good
If one can put up with being there with every fucking body else.

I needed some things at the french discount store with the bullseye logo (Tarzhay). I swear everyone that has ever lived in southern California was in that store today.

2. I also love people-watching.
And the way some of them trundle around in the car park, one has to wonder if they're deliberately egging drivers to run them over. Which they ought to be. Drivers have rights too and shouldn't have to put up with uncouth vermin in human form...

The best part was the restroom. The urinal was out of order and only one stall was in operation (and in use by somebody who ate a disgusting mix of beans and broccoli). The bloke at the foot of the queue had said an expletive, followed by "Seems nobody wants to take a piss either" as everybody in the queue started to wander off, holding it all in, and finding more things to buy (albeit at a faster pace)...

I felt so good when I got to circuit city. I knew they were good for something. (and when I got done and left the loo, a minute later someone else freely passes the shoplifting alarm panel; sets it off without reading the big honkin' sign that reads "Do not carry items beyond this point". I know, learn how to bloody read! Sodding wanker; the letters were 1" tall and quite visible from a fair distance...) Mind you, watching from a distance and waiting a whole 2 minutes for the red shirted moron to play butch was worth it. (The amount he's paid, I doubt many would rush over...)

3. They showed Best Buy on our local news
There must have been a few hundred people outside in the cold waiting for those doors to open.

I'm thankful that I'm not in need of any electronics- lord knows I barely know how to work my high-tech stove that my boyfriend talked me into buying as it is. lol I do enjoy the sales on clothes and accessories however. It was nice to go to the Galleria, use the Valet parking, and shop today. Then off to go mall hopping. I was lucky to get some great deals on some D&G jeans and a new cashmere sweater today.

11. I have that same mouse
but I paid $100 for it.

I like it though, most comfortable mouse I could find for my hand.

6. We got our new camcorder at Best Buy....
And it was ten dollars cheaper there than at WALMART. Which was weird.
We got my new digital camera at Target, though. And I had to settle because they didn't have the camera I wanted. I ended up with a Kodak 6.2 Megapixel something or other. It is a good camera. I'm excited about it. My Olympus died on me the day after Halloween.

7. Not really; walmart's big claim to "lowest price" game is with cheap clothing and
"store brand" garbage, that's identical to Target's store brand garbage except it's 15% cheaper.

Cool camera purchase.

9. Only if they have big sales will I go
But they've honored their extended warranties...

I'm not keen on "Geek Squad" as to even get hired is ridiculous, and the people who pass the qualifications are stumped on a product if the capability isn't listed on its box. (Gee, can't they look it up on the internet if they don't know the part offhand? And if they don't know the job, HOW did they get hired?)

10. Let me tell you a story about my last trip to Worst Buy...
Edited on Sat Nov-24-07 01:43 PM by jasonc
I was looking at PC laptops with a friend and over heard one of the sales men explaining to a female customer how to set up her new wireless router...

He told her many inaccurate statements, but this was the whopper.

He said that he had to get the SSID from her ISP...

I laughed, he turned around and said is there a problem? I said, yes of course there is, you have NO idea what you are talking about, you should go find someone else to explain this to her.

He got really mad at me and asked if I worked for comcast, I said of course not, but I do know how to set up a wireless router and I KNOW I don't need my ISP to tell me what my SSID is going to be.

I ended up setting that ladies WiFi router up for her. And I did it for free.

I have never gone back since.
