The Iron Bowl: Alabama's one-day civil war
Most of y'all wouldn't understand. You'd say "It's just a football
game". It's not. It divides families, co-workers, even church members.

In Alabama, from the cradle to the grave, you're one or the other.
Auburn or Alabama. It divides us to our very soul. One or the other.

After this weekend, we'll go about our business, with "braggin' rights"
of course.

During The Game, we'll throw innocent insults at at our family members.
Hell, last year, my dear Mother flipped me off(She's Bama, I'm Auburn).
My brother wanted to kick my ass, and vice versa.

I'm called the "Orange and Blue sheep of the family". I suppose I am.

WAR EAGLE!!!!!!!

War Eagle, fly down the field
Ever to conquer, never to yield
War Eagle, fearless and true
Fight on you orange and blue!

Go!Go!Go! On to to victory
Strike up the band!
Give 'em hell, give 'em hell
Stand up any yell, HEY!

War Eagle, win for Auburn!
Power of Dixieland!

:)

It beats hell out of fighting the Civil War over again!

13. Oh, yes I do know
Texas and OU in October. A divided staff in the building I work in.

Texas and the Aggies. Oh, God, you should have seen it this week.

I perfectly understand. It is more than a game to so many people. And it splits families, friends, and co workers. Luckily, I didn't attend any of the forementioned institutions, so I stay out of the fray.

Fortunately, the place we're going for the Bama game watching party has plenty of "auxiliary" TVs to keep track of the lesser, albeit important games!

My son is home for T-Day from 'Bama. We'll all be at the game watching party.

The difference between Alabama and Auburn? About 180 miles...and 11 National Championships.

27. Funny thing is...
living in Texas, 'Bama is about the last place I would have expected my son to wind up at. (It is hard to turn down a full scholarship.) However, since he's been there, I've been really impressed. The academic/volunteer/work/research opportunities have been great, and it's been a great experience for him so far (he's a junior this year).

I was there last weekend for the ULM game. I've almost forgotten that by now.

28. alabama is a great school
one of the schools i'm applying to(it's my sr. year in highschool). my mom went to law school there and we lived there for a few years during that when i was younger. funny thing is that she met my stepdad(and auburn fan) at alabama where he was going to law school too.

33. ROLL TIDE ROLL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
"Yea, Alabama!"

Yea, Alabama! Drown 'em Tide!
Every 'Bama man's behind you;
Hit your stride!
Go teach the Bulldogs to behave,
Send the Yellow Jackets to a watery grave!
And if a man starts to weaken,
That's a shame!
For 'Bama's pluck and grit
Have writ her name in crimson flame!
Fight on, fight on, fight on, men!
Remember the Rose Bowl we'll win then!
Go, roll to victory,
Hit your stride,
You're Dixie's football pride, Crimson Tide!

36. Playing wise it's a feast or famine rivalry
Whoever wins that game gets all the recruits from the state while the other team has to use out of state recruits. It seems like one team dominates for big long runs at at time.

40. I grew up with the rivalry
Went to Auburn. Love watching college football. But for the last 25 years I found that the game is far more enjoyable when I'm 1500 miles away.

It's not that the fans are sore losers, it's that they are terrible winners.
