Stroke surviviors....my FIL had a stoke 2 days ago. Lost his right side and his speech.
Now, he can move his right side with ease and normalcy. His speech is perfect.

The CT scan definitely showed a brain-bleed. Not a TIA.

The man made an amazing recovery. He will be released tomorrow.

He's a very physically fit 65 year old man.

I've never seen such a recovery.

I have a long history of stroke in my family and I know how devastating they are.

I am just so happy that he was somehow able to recover.

4. No. No rehab. I just don't understand it. How can a bad stroke just disappear?

5. A lot of the immediate symptoms were likely the result of swelling

and damage to brain tissue.
Swelling recedes within about 72 hours of the event and damaged brain tissue heals itself; only dead tissue is permanently lost.

My husband had a stroke in February. He couldn't move or speak initially; now, you'd never know anything had happened to him at all.

I'm glad things turned out well on your end, as well!

3. That is excellent to hear!
I have seen that happen before. Well, not in 2 days, but I used to talk to this guy who had a stroke and I knew he was getting what I was saying. This went on for months then BAM something happened and he could speak. I saw the guy near daily on the city bus. He was quite the human bean with great stories to tell.

Thats so cool about your FIL!

:applause:
